Matthew 11:11-15

Date posted: December 13, 2018

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel: Matthew 11:11-15
Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John; and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

Reflection
In this Gospel, Jesus sees the last and the least. He not only sees these individuals, he is attentive and present to them. Typically, He gives them His full attention and care. Jesus longs for us to have eyes and hearts that see the little ones or the least in our world. We need to reach out and help them someway. Humanity must follow what John  the Baptist prophesied. We need to repent and live according to the words of God and do things that will please the Lord our God. This is our preparation for His coming. Are we ready to welcome Him when He comes?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…communion as a way of accomplishing mission suggests the solidarity and collaboration that come from sharing in one vision, one spirit and one mission.” In relation to the gospel, it was said that here in our land there is no greater than John Baptist but in heaven, there is. God is always there for us, He longs for us to have eyes, ears and heart that is capable to see, to hear and to understand the people who are in need. If one person starts to do this it will continue until all of the people will listen and do according to the will of the Lord. As the Lord give his full attention to us, we must also do our part as an individual and give full attention to his will.

Prayer
Lord we humbly ask for your guidance and to make us sincere and honest in every way. Help us to follow what John the Baptist did during those times. Focus on the things that will please the Lord. Make us instrument of thy peacefulness that will benefit the humanity. Please guide us as we use our eyes, ears and hearts to see, to hear and to understand those people who are in need. This we pray, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
