Matthew 24: 42-44

Date posted: December 1, 2019

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 24: 42-44
Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.

Reflection
The gospel tells us that the coming of God is near. No one knows when He will come but like the master of the house in the story, we are encouraged to be ready at all times. Just like BSP motto, “Laging Handa”, this encourages and reminds us not to be complacent in our life. Do good deeds, attending Holy Masses, receiving sacrament of Penance are some simple actions that we can do as we prepare for God’s coming. What have we done so far in preparation for the coming of God?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “communion in mission as a way of relating to others suggests openness to all persons and the desire to be brother or sister to all especially those in need.” The gospel calls us to be alert and be open at all times for the Kingdom of God is very near. As Lasallians, we are challenged to continue this wondrous work of our founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, and be open to the needs of people in our surroundings.

One Life Prayer
Holy Spirit
You love us and offer us the gift of association.
You call us to live with joy
You invite us to be people with a creative inner life
Lord, grant us your strength for a life full of meaning
Fill us with your grace so that we will live the values of the gospel.
Our inner life will grow
And that we will be credible witnesses
Together with the entire Lasallian Family
In the midst of our world.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Mary
Queen and Mother of the Christian Schools, and through
The intercession of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron of teachers. Amen.

Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
