Matthew 3:13-15

Date posted: January 12, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 3:13-15
Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. John tried to prevent him, saying, “I need
to be baptized by you, and yet you are coming to me?” Jesus said to him in reply, “Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”

Reflection
Today’s gospel is quite simple: to do the will of God. Whenever God calls out to you, respond to the call. This call is
not limited to helping someone in need but it is in our decisions always align to God’s will and not the other way around. And we must also be mindful of our actions and decisions for the common good. When was the last time I asked God for guidance before coming up with a decision?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “…the communion in mission is a spirit that allows one to trust one another…” This implies that as
members of the community, one of our most important roles is to help the community to flourish and to help our less fortunate friends in their struggles. As Lasallians, we must find what it truly means to be a servant of the Lord as we learn how to work together as a community to respond to the call of the times, just like Father De La Salle.
