John 10, 31-42

Date posted: March 31, 2023

March 31, 2023 (Friday)
Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 10, 31-42
The Jews picked up rocks to stone Jesus. Jesus answered them,” have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?’ The Jews answered him, “We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, said?’, “You are If it calls them gods to whom the word of God came, and scripture cannot be set aside, can you say that the one
whom the Father has consecrated and sent into the world blasphemes because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize (and understand) that the Father is in me and I am in the Father” (Then) they tried again to arrest him; but he
escaped from their power. He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first baptized, and there he remained. Many came to him and said, “John performed no sign, but everything John said about this man was true.” And many there began to believe in him.

Reflection:
The Gospel tells us that the works of Jesus are the works of love. Jesus' deeds are the acts of love we know of him – love unto death. What we see in Jesus reflects in the Father. What the Father sees in Jesus sees and loves in us. We pray that our hearts may be made like the heart of Jesus. What image of God do I have? our lives.

Lasallian Guiding Principle:
LGP states that, “Every individual needs to be constantly exposed to or immersed in the pressing social problems to which we subsequently aim to contribute a resolution.” As Lasallians, we must always listen to the voice of God. Let us open our minds and heart to the possibility of God’s will in our lives.

Prayer:
Synod on Synodality Prayer

We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.

St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
