John 16:7

Date posted: May 19, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 16:7
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the
Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”

Reflection
The gospel tells us that separation and loss of relationship often lead to grief and pain. Sometimes we feel
betrayed by our friends and family members. But because of these experiences, we become stronger.
Just like in our faith, sometimes we are tested, and for that we become closer to God. When was the last
time we struggled with our faith? What happened to you after that?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “In De La Salle’s thinking, faith and zeal are inseparable, two dimensions of one spirit.”
Real faith can only exist when zeal is also present in the person or in the community. We cannot say that I
have deep faith in God if I have everyone around me and if I really find it hard to help other people. They
always come together.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
