John 19:26-27

Date posted: September 15, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

John 19:26-27
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “woman,
behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple
took her into his home.

Reflection
The gospel talks about Mary, the Mother of God who witnessed Jesus as the fruit of her faith. Like
Mary, we are also challenged to carry out God’s plan. To have such confidence to pursue our journey
with faith will help us become living witnesses of God’s providence and love. Are we willing to take
care of people though we are also in pain just like the disciple?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
As stated in the LGP, the spirit of faith allows one to search God’s will in order to carry out his saving
plan. As Lasallians, we must believe and give ourselves whole-heartedly to God. By doing so, we’re
going to be guided by Him to become a better version of ourselves who knows how to love and serve.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
