Luke 7, 18b-23

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Luke 7, 18b-23
At that time John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” When the men came to him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'” At that time he cured many of their diseases, sufferings, and evil spirits; he also granted sight to many who were blind. And he said to them in reply, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the good news proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.”

Reflection
Jesus reminds the people of what they sought and found in John the Baptist. They did not search for some trivial reed or
elegant courtesan but encountered a sign of God’s presence. We take some time to recall and savor again the people who
have helped us to discover God’s ways. Do I still prepare a space in my heart for Jesus’ coming?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that “Lasallian institutions must strive to develop among its members greater recognition of the realities of human suffering and the stewardship role that each share in preserving the integrity of God’s creation and creating a humane and just society.” This statement emphasizes the importance of social justice and the need to work together to achieve it. It also emphasizes the need to work collaboratively with others to advocate for justice and equality. The statement encourages Lasallians to be active participants in the global village and to be aware of the injustices that exist and work to eliminate them.

Prayer
Synod on Synodality Prayer
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, Make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time, in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever.
Amen.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
