Matthew 10:37-39

Date posted: June 28, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 10:37-39
Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up the cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Those who find their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.

Reflection
The gospel tells us to love and to honor our parents. We must obey and respect them. Honoring our parents is like honoring God, just like in our gospel. Parenthood is a vocation – a calling worthy of honor. Parents give us unconditional love just like our Father in heaven. How do we show our best appreciation or respect to our parents?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “The goal of social development interventions is to preserve and bring forth the fullness of life.” As Lasallians, we desire to fulfill our mission to transform the lives of many especially those who are the last, the least, and the lost in the society. We are being challenged by today’s gospel to start this in our family by respecting each other, the spark of hope in transforming our country.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
