Matthew 13:13-17

Date posted: July 23, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 13:13-17
This is why I speak to them in parables, because they look but do not see and hear but do not listen or
understand. Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You shall indeed hear but not understand,
you shall indeed look but never see. Gross is the heart of this people, they will hardly hear with their ears,
they have closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their
hearts and be converted and I heal them. “But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears,
because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see
but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Reflection
The Gospel tells us, “Blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears because they hear.” However, there
are some who can hear and see, but are blind to see and don’t care about what is right or wrong. The Gospel
invites us to look at the things in the eyes of faith; to hear and to feel it through our hearts.
Through the eyes of faith, we can see and hear the needs of other people. And through our hearts, we can
touch and transform the lives of other people.
Are you willing to listen and to be generous to those in need?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who strive to integrate Gospel
perspectives and values in the conduct of their daily lives.” As Lasallians, we are called on a mission to serve
the needs of the other people physically and spiritually. Our mission can be considered a great blessing or
gift to other people.

Loving Father,
our Lasallian Family draws near to you

In SERVICE, we beg you for strength and wisdom
to do all that needs to be done
knowing that we can be channels of your healing grace
when we do all our actions for the love of you.
In COMMUNION, we stand in solidarity
with all the frontliners who risk their lives for others
and pray for all medical teams and support personnel
who earnestly seek its cure
