Matthew 13:31-32

Date posted: July 27, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 13:31-32
Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds. “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a
person took and sowed in a field.
It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a
large bush, and the ‘birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.’

Reflection
I love the Gospel when it presents something very optimistic. Imagine one small seed would grow into a big a tree. This is very symbolic and so empowering for those who feels that they are nothing compared to others or those who believe that they can not do great things. What kind of seed are you?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who strive to integrate Gospel
perspectives and values in the conduct of their daily lives.” Sometimes, we find ourselves short of so many things during our formative years. But some are really surprised that when that empty space is finally filled or when the seed begins to die and grow, we could not imagine that all those talents and abilities are there all along. This is our Lasallian mission, to empower people and embrace their giftedness.

Prayer of Lasallians in the Time of COVID-19
Loving Father,
our Lasallian Family draws near to you
in fervent prayer for all those affected by COVID-19.
In FAITH, we lift up to you our fears and anxieties
and the sufferings of those who have been infected
always remembering that even in our darkest hours
we are in your most holy presence.
In SERVICE, we beg you for strength and wisdom
to do all that needs to be done
knowing that we can be channels of your healing grace
when we do all our actions for the love of you.
In COMMUNION, we stand in solidarity
with all the frontliners who risk their lives for others
and pray for all medical teams and support personnel
who earnestly seek its cure
and provide remedy and comfort
to those who are sick and most vulnerable.
Most loving Father we entrust our lives
and the health and well-being
of our families and communities
to your care and protection
for with you we will be safe and secure. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us.
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
