Matthew 5:43-45

Date posted: June 16, 2020

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 5:43-45
“You have heard that it was said, `You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you,
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in
heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Reflection
The gospel is about transformation; we need to change the way we think, judge and treat others. Respect is
earned, not demanded. We, as Lasallians, are compassionate people. We are taught and form to help each
other and extend this service to our community. We are not judgemental, and we balance everything. We
transform lives especially those who are in need. How do I treat the people in my workplace, my community?
Do I treat them with respect and with dignity as human beings? How?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Actions must always be life-affirming.” As a Lasallian community, we are challenged to
always be life-giving. We give opportunity to those who are marginalized and come up with ways to help
them in their situation. We, as a community, set oppressed people as our priority in the mission and help
them voice out their concerns.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.
Our Lady of the Star, pray for us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us!
St. Miguel Febres Cordero, pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
