Matthew 9:1-2

Let us all remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Matthew 9:1-2
After entering a boat, Jesus made the crossing, and came into his own town. And their people brought to
him a paralytic lying on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Courage, child,
your sins are forgiven.”

Reflection
The gospel illustrates one of the miracles of Jesus, healing the paralytic. During that time, sickness is due
to one’s sinfulness. The desire of the paralytic and the strong faith of the people healed him. As we face
this pandemic, where can we experience God’s presence?

Lasallian Guiding Principle
LGP states that, “Lasallian learners are unique and gifted individuals who express concern and compassion for the plight of the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society and respond to their needs.” In relation to the gospel, Jesus healed those people who believed and have a strong faith in God. What is important to Jesus was their faith. As Lasallians, we are challenged to put our faith in action by compassionately caring for vulnerable people in our community. Just like Jesus and St. la Salle, we are called to respond to their needs.

Oratio Imperata Against the COVID-19
God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection
against the COVID-19 that has disturbed us and claimed many lives.
We pray that You guide the people tasked
to find cure for this disease and to stem its transmission.
Protect the medical experts and healthcare personnel
that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion.
We pray for those afflicted, may they be restored to health soon.
Protect those who care for them.
Grant eternal rest to those who have died.
Give us grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need.
We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God forever and ever. Amen.

Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
