This year’s annual Tzu Chi University overseas tour took them to the Philippines and to DLSHSI in particular.

As a fulfillment of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding between Tzu Chi University (TCU) of Hualien, Taiwan and DLSHSI signed on October 16, 2015, 32 students, staff, faculty, and administrators from Tzu Chi University’s College of Medicine visited the campus for an academic exchange on July 19, 2018.

The visitors toured the College of Medicine and were given a chance to use the Anatomage Table, one of the most technologically advanced anatomy visualization system for teaching and learning anatomy that DLSHSI’s College of Medicine is currently using.

They also paid a courtesy call with DLSHSI President Br. Gus Boquer, and a meeting with DLSHSI and DLSU-D administrators where they discussed possible collaborations with TCU in the field of medicine.

TCU’s College of Medicine Dean and Professor of Dermatology Jen-Hung Yang, MD, Ph.D delivered this message for both DLSHSI and DLSU-D, “Thank you to De La Salle Health Sciences Institute for the hospitality and generosity shown to us. We hope to have more collaborations and exchanges to strengthen our friendship and work together to benefit mankind. We are very impressed on what you have done in Bahay Pag-Asa. This is a place for a life to rebirth. We see many young men refreshing their lives, and we believe they will change and become people good to their families, the society, and the country.”
