Acads accomplishments and thrusts highlighted during SOAA 2020

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academics, in partnership with Romeo P. Ariniego, MD, AFSC Library and CE-Logic, Inc., held the State of the Academics Address 2020 on August 3, 2020 via Zoom. A total of 576 unique viewers attended the virtual event. Vice Chancellor for Academics Juanito O. Cabanias presented the top accomplishments of the Academics in SY 2019-2020. He also discussed the future directions in the coming school year, which reflect his 20/20 vision of Clear, Conspicuous, Transparent, and Visible plans anchored in the 12 Key Strategies of the Academics:

  1. University Status
  2. Maintenance of the CHED Autonomous Status
  3. ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance Program Assessment
  4. Offering of New Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
  5. 100% Board Passing Rate
  6. Implementation of the Home-Based Alternative Learning Modalities (HBALMs)
  7. Strengthening of the operations of the Center for Inter-Professional Education and Practice (CIPEP)
  8. Application of Digital Marketing, On-line Admissions and the New Academic Management System
  9. Internationalization Programs
  10. Virtual Counseling and Student Services
  11. Virtual Community and Engagements
  12. Romeo P. Ariniego, MD, AFSC Library Development Plan
  13. Construction of new Academic Building, College of Dentistry and Special Health Sciences Senior High School Buildings
  14. Improvement in the Scholarship Program and increase in the number of scholars

Dr. Cabanias also discussed the plans of the Academics relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and its readiness to engage in online and remote education. The Academic Teaching and Service Faculty, Non-Teaching Personnel and students were also recognized for their achievements and contributions in the previous school year.

The SOAA is held every year and is a fitting event to gather Team Academics to conclude the previous school year and welcome the new one.

New login workflow has been implemented starting August 11, 2020, which involves using Microsoft Office 365 account as username and password for students, ATF and ASF. Residents and other DLSMHSI members will follow the old workflow using their own username and password. User guide has been sent to the different colleges to be distributed to their faculty and students.
