Dr. Alicia P. Catabay is recipient of DOST NRCP Achievement Award

DOST National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) confers Achievement Award to College of Pharmacy Dean Alicia P. Catabay. The award recognizes top Filipino researchers and their contributions to their profession and to society. The awarding shall take place on March 16, 2016 at PICC, Pasay City as part of NRCP’s 83rd Annual General Membership Assembly.

First General Assembly of Radiological Training Officers held The College of Medical Radiation Technology (CMRT) hosted the First General Assembly of Radiological Training Officers on February 12, 2016 at DLSHSI Villarosa Convention Hall. Training officers of affiliated hospitals of CMRT were invited to discuss policies and concerns about the internship training program of CMRT students.The assembly was part of the RT Days Celebration.
Alumni Relations & Assistance Office hosts 1st Health Sciences Interdisciplinary Conference 2016The Alumni Relations & Assistance Office (ARAO) successfully held the 1st Health Sciences Interdisciplinary Conference on January 24, 2016 at DLSHSI Villarosa Convention Hall .Distinguished alumni Dr. Gerardo Manzo, Mr. John Joseph Fallore, Dr. Reynaldo Cruz, and Mr. Jeeno Jay Frani were invited to speak in the conference to share their knowledge about updates in cardiovascular health and procedures. The event was well-attended by 273 alumni, alumni-in-residence, residents, and faculty members.This conference spearheaded by ARAO is part of the Alumni Empowerment Series 1, a series of events that bring together Lasallian alumni for professional excellence and advancement.High five to ARAO and to all attendees for a successful conference!
RPAMDLS conducts survey on computer useThe Romeo P. Ariniego, MD Library Services has initiated a survey on the computer use of the different patrons namely students, faculty members, academic support personnel, interns, residents, administrators, and non-teaching personnel. Different survey tools have been used such as print, on-line, and drop box. The survey intends to identify the computer preference of users as well as the problems they encounter when using computers in the library. This shall help the library to determine how could it enhance its multimedia service.Final results of the survey shall be presented during the next Academic Operations Committee meeting.
Updates from the Ninth Academic Operations Committee (VCA Council) Meeting held on February 11, 2016

  1. Results of the February 2016 Physical Therapy Licensure Examination. The College of Rehabilitation Sciences achieved a passing rate of 71.43% for first time takers.
  2. CHED Accreditation of DLSUMC Laboratory Department and Signing of Memorandum of Agreement between CMLS and other hospitals. De La Salle University Medical Center (DLSUMC) has submitted  the requirements for CHED Accreditation. This action is expected to benefit not only the hospital but also other colleges of the Institute. The College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DLSUMC and a Memorandum of Agreement with San Lazaro Hospital.
  3. Kundirana Concert on February 18, 2016 at DLSHSI Animo Center. This concert was participated in by more than 3,000 students from the different public high schools in the City of Dasmariñas. This was sponsored by the City Government of Dasmariñas and DLSHSI.
  4. Si Kuya Juan at ang Kabataan on March 12, 2016. This is an annual activity of the College of Humanities and Sciences where public elementary students are invited to come to DLSHSI for a special program highlighting the values of compassion, sharing, community, responsibility, and love. For this year, 70 students from Dasmariñas Central School shall be the recipient of the program. This activity is part of the Outcomes-Based Education under the Religious Education subject.
  5. 2nd Seminar on Living Out the Lasallian Guiding Princples: Level Up for faculty and academic support personnel on April 7, 2016 at DLSHSI Villarosa Convention Hall. Prof. Carmela Lazatin, Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life of De La Salle College of St. Benilde, shall be the speaker for this seminar. This seminar is expected to take the attendees to a higher level as regards their understanding and appreciation of the Lasallian Guiding Principles. All full time faculty members/ASP are expected to attend. A memo shall be sent to the Academic Community about this. The list of participants shall be submitted by all colleges and departments concerned to the OVCA.
  6. Non-teaching Personnel Team Building Activity on May 12-13, 2016. This event shall be spearheaded by OVCA and HRMD.
