After months of planning and preparation, everything is all set for the most-awaited institutional celebration, the Lasallian Days.To kick start the event, the Lasallian Alumni Empowerment Series 1: Updates in Cardiovascular Health and Procedures shall be held on January 24 at the De La Salle Villarosa Convention Hall.On January 25, a Mass shall be held at the Twin Hearts of Mary and Jesus Chapel to be followed by the launching of the Bikers Club. The Employees’ Annual Recognition is also set to happen later that day at the De La Salle Animo Center.The Annual Search for Most Outstanding Quality Improvement Study shall happen on January 26at De La Salle Villarosa Convention Hall. A Sports Clinic shall be held in Bagac, Bataan on the same day.

In the morning of January 27, the search for Mr. and Ms. HSI shall begin with an Opening Ceremony to be followed by the Talent Competition. The Battle of the Bands and the Dance Competition are scheduled in the afternoon. All activities shall be held at the De La Salle Animo Center. The Disaster Risk Management Forum is also set on the same day at the De La Salle Villarosa Convention Hall.

January 28 shall be peppered with a number of simultaneous activities: 8th Annual Student Research Forum, Animo Race, Research Poster Presentation, 3rd Science Fair 2016, Scholars and Sponsors’ Night, and First Aid Olympics.

The celebration shall conclude on January 29 with more events: Institutional Wellness Therapy, Legal Updates on Student Discipline Seminar, Social Entrepreneur Seminar, Soap and Candle Making, Coronation of Mr. and Ms. HSI, and Animo Night.

PAASCU grants initial accreditation to College of Medical Radiation TechnologyThe College of Medical Radiation Technology (CMRT) has been granted with initial accreditation by Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). The college is now eligible to apply for formal survey visit 6 months to 1 year after receipt of report. CMRT plans to apply for formal survey this 1st Semester of SY 2016-2017.PAASCU accreditation of programs offered by DLSHSI is one of the key goals of the Academics Division. All colleges and departments work together to support this goal and achieve the desired accreditation status.High five to CMRT and to all departments involved for the successful accreditation!
College of Nursing students participate in 9th MDCON Research Congress Two groups of student researchers from the College of Nursing attended the 9th Manila Doctors College of Nursing (MDCON) Research Congress with the theme “Caring Beyond Borders” on January 20, 2016 at Manila Tytana College, Pasay City.Zamierre Clydezdale Benevice, Theresa Caravana, Cherry Jean Jardinico, and Melissa Malong presented a poster based on their research “Perception on the Effects of Cyberbullying on the Level of Confidence among Nursing Students in DLSHSI.” They were awarded Second Place, Best Student Research Poster. The group’s thesis adviser is Prof. Nancy De Los Santos.Deine Luis Alimpia, Jennifer Anne Conde, Pia Marinelle Monzon, and Rose Anna Ramos also participated in the poster presentation featuring their study “Coping Mechanism of Foreign Students in De La Salle Health Sciences Institute.” Dean Ederlyn Lumabi is the thesis adviser of the group.
